Project overview
Worlds first Environmental Olympiad. DWF and the Royal Danish Embassy in India launched the first environmental Olympiad among school classes 6-12 grade. The children will be given a multi-test with 100 questions related to environment, climate and water. There will be prices for the winners within each class group. Request more info HERE
DWF Key speaker at Everything about Water, Aug 2016. DWF was invited as Knowledge Partner to the annual Everything about water in August 2016. Together with DI a number of Danish companies gave presentations about how to work with climate-proofing cities and industries and how Danish knowledge can benefit the indian society. The delegation also visited Pune and Mumbai.
DWF-India gives a speach on Danish water sector: DWF was invited to a conference in New Delhi on 25 August 2015 on developing Smart Cities in India. The topic was on water and DWF explained about the Danish water sector and how our experiences could be utilised in developing new cities in India. An afternoon-meeting the same day and the Danish Embassy took the subject of water and smarts cities further through discussions.
Rajkot Non-revenue-water: The project showed Danish competencies in how to detect leakage of drinking water in a small section of Rajkot, Gujarat, India. Although the households were built jut 12 ago, the leakage percentage was more than 30, mostly caused by very bad connections from the households to the main supply line. Project completed in 2014
Water Olympiad: The DK Embassy and DWF will facilitate a water olympiad, where focus is on both national and global water problems. The olympiad will take place as a multi-choice test and it is expected that 30.000 school children will participate. Expected to be executed in January-February 2015.
Village water and sanitation: The Indian government has proposed to establish 22 mio new toilet facilities all over the country. DWF has taken the initiative together with Danish companies to introduce new types of multi-purpose facilities, where a building will house other hygiene facilities than toilets, e.g. health clinics, pharma-shop etc. Expected to be executed in 2016.

DWF has established an independent unit in India to assist the members work with demonstration projects in India. The unit is established as a private limited enterprise with a board and an independent economy.
