In February 2009, 6 Danish companies and Danish Water Forum participated in the Danish-Indian Water Days, an event organized by WTC (a DWF member) and Eksportrådet, taking place in both New Delhi and in Mumbay. Through the contacts with the invited Indian guests and through site visits to Indian wastewater treatment plants it became clear that the potential for selling Danish know-how and services was good. The 6 companies, DWF, The Danish Embassy in India and the Danish Min. Environment decided to form a partnership with the aim of identifying one wastewater treatment plant and then rehabilitate parts or all of it with Danish technology and know-how.
The companies involved are: COWI, Danfoss, DHI, Grundfos, Siemens Turbomachinery, Vandcenter Syd (former Odense Water).
Danish Water Services is helping in creating feasible financial models for the investments.
