The Research Platform - Water has been initiated to support the Danish research within water research.

The Research Platform - Water was founded on December 12, 2005. The purpose of the platform was to identify the needs, the possibilities and the challenges for Danish research, innovation and technological development within the water sector. Prior to the foundation there has been a number of meetings, and a report showing the positions of strength and the needs for research had been elaborated.

The Research Platform - Water consists of working groups, a steering group and a appointed chairman. All interested actors from research institutions, industry, consultancy firms and public authorities are invited to participate in the working groups.
