World Water Forum
European Regional Process

European Concluding Session

Europe is often considered as a good student when it comes to water management: under the impetus of regional organizations, States of the continent are focusing on ambitious objectives as well as relevant tools to achieve them.

Although real progress has been recorded in water management, many challenges still lie ahead, as clearly demonstrated throughout the sessions dedicated to the World Water Forum’s European process.

Therefore, in Europe as anywhere else, there is a need to pinpoint not only priority issues (which are often well-known) but also recommendations that can help improve water management in Europe and overcome its challenges.

At a broader scale, these recommendations will also help improve the contributions of European regional organizations to the strengthening of the water sector in neighbouring countries as well as in other areas.
